Charlotte - Richard Dimmette, 30, beloved only child of Rick and Julie, and husband of Hong, died unexpectedly on February 28, 2015. He was born on March 13, 1984 in Charlotte, NC, and quickly delighted all who knew and loved him with his creative and passionate outlook on life.
Richard attended Montessori schools, and graduated from Dore Academy. He attended Central Piedmont Community College, UNCC and Queens College. Richard was a fourth generation member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
Richard came into the world with a love of music and an uncanny ability to combine design and technology, which propelled his life and translated into his career of music production. Richard's business, 624 Productions, brokered musical systems as well as worked with many talented artists. Richard also loved teaching music recording classes at CPCC for many years.
As a child, Richard loved going to Figure Eight Island, NC. He spent many summers there with his parents, grandparents and special friends. He enjoyed surfing, biking, kayaking and exploring nature, and following the telephone company around "helping" with their work.
Richard's life took on an exciting new dimension six years ago when he met Hong Loi and her gentle, loving family. Hong and Richard were married in 2013, and they filled their short time together with much love and many happy experiences. Richard leaves behind many broken hearts in his extended family, and special friends all over the world.
The celebration service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Harry & Bryant's "Chapel in the Oaks", 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the E.R. & Lillian B. Dimmette Scholarship Fund at the Foundation for the Carolinas, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
