Born August 31st, 1938 to Mary and Ernest Floyd Sr., Floyd lived his rambunctious young life in Charlotte, NC with his two sisters, Patsy and Harriet, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby.
Floyd was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: Veteran, mechanic, fisherman, BBQ expert, gardener, contractor - he could fix or build anything.
He will be remembered for his larger than life personality, his love of gardening, motors, family and friends. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those he held dear in life. He will be missed dearly.
Floyd is survived by his devoted daughter, Mary Taylor (Mike); granddaughter, Mandy Zelakowski (Henry); and grandson, Daniel Taylor (Lora). And the ones that made him a Great Poppy: Jenna Grace, Caleigh, Logan and Taylen Zelakowski, Mason and Paisley Taylor.
