Doug was born in Rochester, NY and became a resident of North Carolina as a young boy of 8 years old. He was a jack-of-all-trades working in construction, pet care, retail, and the grocery industry. Dougie was known for his love of animals big and small, his sense of humor, generosity, and his zest for life. He had the most infectious laugh and gave the best hugs. He was often seen walking his beloved German shepherd, Silver, around his home of Cornelius, NC. He loved spending time at the beach and in the mountains - especially Carolina Beach and Lake Lure. Doug loved fishing and playing golf with his dad and brother Derek, enjoyed wine tasting at local vineyards, and he was a talented artist. He was a kind soul and was much loved by his family, friends, and co-workers.
Doug is survived by his parents Doug and Rita Scott of Matthews, NC, his brother Derek Scott and sister-in-law Stefanie Webb of Matthews, NC, and his loyal dog Silver.
A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Sunday, March 5, 2023 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC.
