Doris Jean Polk Harkey (92) passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in Huntersville.
She was the youngest of eight children born to Henry Bryan Polk and Minnie Stevenson Polk. Doris was raised on Queens Road and graduated from Central High School in Charlotte. Her dad owned a grocery store during the war.
She is preceded in death by her husband Horace Harkey who passed away in 1989. Doris is survived by her children Debbie (Al) Williams, Robbin (Shirley) and Mason Harkey; grandchildren Erica Harkey, J. Williams (Iris), Cameron (Amber) and Forrest (Ashley) and six great grandchildren Jack, Corbin, Bode, Beckett, Cole and Evie.
Doris was a loving wife, devoted mother and traveled the world with her son, Mason who lived with Doris and is currently employed at TJ Maxx.
