Mrs. Armstrong, 96, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on March 15, 2011 at Liberty Healthcare. She was born in Laurens County, SC, a daughter of the late Mack and Gena Traynham Mitchell; and beloved wife of the late Fred D. Armstrong.
Dora was a gentile southern lady who lived by the golden rule throughout her life. She was a long standing member of Memorial United Methodist and First United Methodist. She was active in her church, as well as being a faithful member of the local chapter of the DAR.
She is survived by her son, Fred Armstrong and wife, Nancy, of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Kim Jonas, Debbie and Bill Armstrong.
A service by the graveside will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Reverend David A. Wyant officiating.
