Mr. Donald Ray “BUG” Rogers, 57, of Matthews, North Carolina entered into rest on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his residence. A native of Charlotte, he was the son of John Erskine Rogers and Pauline Towery Rogers. He was a member of Maranantha Baptist Church in Charlotte. He worked as a Camera Repairman for Southern Photo Technical Services for 25 years. He worked for Advance Auto Parts, but most recently worked for NAPA Auto Parts. “Bug” was always willing to help everyone and was greatly loved by everyone he encountered. He will be dearly missed.
“Bug” is survived by his sister, Jean Pearl and husband Steve of Port Charlotte, FL; by a sister, Victoria Thomason and husband Mike, of Charlotte; by a sister, Karen Williams and husband Gene, of Edwards, Mississippi; by a brother, Harry Jones and his wife Elaine, of Forest City, North Carolina; by a brother, Ron Rogers and wife Jackie, of Charlotte; and by a sister, Linda Long and husband David, of Matthews. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service celebrating the life of “Bug” will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon in the Charlotte Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park with Pastor Albert Johnston officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 o’clock until 3 o’clock. Interment will follow the funeral service. Following the interment, the family cordially invites “Bug’s” friends and family to a reception in his memory, hosted at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
