Donald L. McGuire

Donald L. McGuire, 76, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully in his home March 9, 2023. Born June 10, 1946 in Tip Top, VA, he was the son of James Robert and Fannie Ann (Hoops) McGuire. He married Shelby Willis in Clover, SC in the year 1975.

Donald was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Belmont, NC and a retired ceiling technician. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

An avid hunter, he enjoyed fishing, hot rods, trips to the mountains and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Donnie (Shavon) McGuire; granddaughter raised in the home, Laura (Devin) Nolan-Bader; grandchildren, Sophia Belle and J.C.; great-grandchildren, Boaz Nolan-Bader and Xui Li Nolan-Bader; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Ruth) Willis and Darrell Snell Sr.; sisters-in-law, Sandy Willis and Phyllis Ruble; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter, Kitrina “Kitty” Windham; sisters, Linda Snell, Cenia Marie Hess and Maggie Louise Puckett; brothers, Samuel J. McGuire and Bobby James McGuire.

Funeral Service 1:30 PM, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at New Life Baptist Church, 201 Oak Trail, Belmont, NC 28012. Visitation 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
