Denise Farrow

Denise Farrow was born on January 6, 1962, in Queens, NY to the late Carrie Bell Farrow. She met Tyrone Stigall when she was 18 years old and later gave birth to their daughter, Tanisha Stigall. A few years later, her niece, Amberstar stole her heart and Denise raised her as her second daughter.

Denise loved gospel music, arts and crafts, puzzles, hair braiding and cooking. She was a natural nurturer and welcomed everyone into her safe, warm home with kindness, love, and a hot meal. There isn’t a person who met her who didn’t love her immediately. Denise was the matriarch of the family. She was influential in the upbringing of many of her nieces, nephews, foster children and countless others from her neighborhood and beyond.

Denise was well known for being a wonderful caregiver, the go to for trendy braided hairstyles or a delicious meal. Although she loved Brooklyn, she made the decision to move to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She quickly created a comfortable life for herself in Charlotte, North Carolina with many friends and associates who enjoyed her friendship and loved her dearly.

Denise Farrow was already an angel on earth, but earned her wings when God called her home on December 3, 2022. Denise was predeceased by Keith Farrow, Karen Farrow, Rosalind Farrow and Tyrone Stigall. She is survived by her daughters; Tanisha Stigall, Amberstar Saunders (Terence), siblings; Robert Farrow, Nelson Farrow, Craig Farrow, Brenda Farrow, Tracey Farrow and Harriet Farrow, grandchildren; Alaynah Mclean, John Guerrier, and Aubreyrose Saunders, Grand-Dog, Kenya, Goddaughter, Ashley Finley and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved immensely.

A Family Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 10th, 2022 from 12:00p to 1:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. Homegoing services will be from 1:00 to 2:30pm.
