Deaconess Denise Eugene, also known as Solange Eugene, was born in Milot, Haiti on January 4, 1951, to the late Mr. Guerrier Eugene and the lady Duracia Vincent Eugene. She did her primary studies at the Philippian Baptist School in Milot. She traveled to Cap-Haitien for her secondary studies at the Lycée Philippe Guerrier. She gave birth to two beautiful daughters that she loved so much: Mirielle Eugene Casimir and Florene Noel Michel.
During the year 1990, she left her native country to travel to the United States of America. She spent seven years in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Then, in 1997, Denise left Fort Lauderdale to North Carolina, where she finally found her niche in Charlotte, and remained there until her last breath on December 18, 2021.
Regarding her religious life: she was a very active and punctual member of the Haitian Nazarene Church in Charlotte, NC for a period of 7 years.
In January 2006, she was part of the team that established the Tabernacle Church of the God of Grace in Charlotte. From the founding of this church, Sister Denise Eugene was a member of the executive committee of this said institution until the last day of her life. She served approximately 15 years as a committee member of the Tabernacle Church.
From 2008 to 2010, Sister Denise Eugene was an appointed deaconess for a period of 2 years. In June 2010, she received her dedication to become the first ordained deaconess of the Tabernacle Church of the God of Grace. A deaconess who always fulfills her function with joy, and without a murmur or complaint.
Deaconess Denise was certainly a beautiful person, with a character that belonged to her alone. She showed us courage, resistance, and above all strength . She taught us not to get attached to the material but to focus on what really mattered in existence; love, honesty, tenderness, personal growth, family and the Christian life.
We say goodbye to you dear mother, wonderful grandmother, wonderful aunt, honorable friend and Sister in Jesus Christ, with all the love we have for you. Your values will continue to exist through the ages and generations. You will always be alive in our hearts and minds.
She is survived by her two daughters Mirielle Casimir and Florene Michel; her sons-in-law Pierre Casimir and Sidney Michel; her grandchildren, Joshua Manigat, Isaiah Manigat, Sierra Michel, Kaliah Michel, Megan Casimir, Josiah Casimir, Ariella Michel and her great-granddaughter Sadie Manigat; her siblings Claudette Eugene, Christian Eugene and Lunie Eugene Ferdinand, as well as many nieces and nephews.
We deeply appreciate and gratefully acknowledge your kind expression of sympathy, your prayers and your love. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tabernacle Church of God of Grace, Rev Jude Saint- Cyr, Sr. Marcelande Saint- Cyr, Pastor Margaleine Eugene, Saint Francis United Methodist Church and McEwen funeral home. The support and comfort you provided will always be remembered by the family of Florene & Mirielle
Deaconess Denise, may you rest in peace.
Thank you!
