Dr. Demetrios G. Pourlos

Demetrios was born on December 22, 1953 in Greece to the late Dr. George and Paraskeri Petsa Pourlos.

Born in Athens, Greece; Demetrios came to the US on a student Visa. He graduated from Appalachian State University and Chapel Hill School of Dentistry with honors in 1984. Dr, Pourlos had his dentistry office for 34 years in Charlotte, NC.

He loved to ride mountain bikes and was a competitive windsurfer, winning numerous awards in both sports. His most loved pastime was traveling and most of all was spending time with family.

Demetrios is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nona Ross Pourlos; his two daughters, Leslie Watson Wood (Brian) and Amy Watson Bruner; his four grandchildren, Dillon Wood, Chloe Wood, Jacob Bruner, and Levi Bruner; his twin brothers, Savvas Pourlos and Vasilli Pourlos; his one niece and two nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at McEwen Funeral Home - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC.
