Del, as she was known, was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 30, 1931. Del is most remembered for her love of the North Carolina Mountains and Lake Lure where she retired and spent 33 years with her husband Robert or “Bob”.
Del and Bob met in 1954 on the beach in Grand Haven, Michigan. They were married in 1955 and had five children by whom she is survived: Suzanne, William, John, Amy and Thomas, and also her brother Robert. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Len.
Her legacy as an adventurous spirit with an athletic outlook on life will live on in her family and those who knew her best. She loved her home and home life. She loved to play golf, knit, paint and many other numerous crafts that peaked her interest. Del was not afraid to try new things.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church located at 3016 Providence Road in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
