Deborah Jo Winfred, 70, of Charlotte, passed away February 21, 2020 at Alexandria Place in Gastonia, NC. Born May 10, 1949 in Wayne County, IN; the daughter of William and Juanita Mae (Gates) Burns. She married William Winfred on June 9, 2001 in Sunnyvale, CA.
Known as the “Volks Woman,” in Eugene, OR; Deborah was a Volkswagen mechanic for numerous years. She was also a semi-truck driver for Chambers Transportation Services in Charlotte, NC.
She enjoyed pottery, gardening, NASCAR, shopping and traveling the United States.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Winfred; sons, Joey, Shad and Chris Russell; grandchildren, Melody and Christopher Russell; brother, Dave Burns; sister-in-law, Polly Burns; niece, Amy Burns; numerous friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.
