Debbie was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 6, 1948, to her parents, Geraldine Lee Davis and Loren Kenneth Davis. She graduated from Jenkins High School in 1966 and was named Miss Sequoyah. Also in 1966, she was first runner-up for Miss Savannah. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Elementary Education from Georgia Southern College (now University) in 1970. She taught in schools in Georgia (Savannah and Columbus), as a substitute teacher in North Carolina’s Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and completed her career teaching kindergarten for 20 years at Charlotte Country Day School. She was active in her church, Hickory Grove Baptist, teaching the 2-year-olds and infants for many years. She was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 50 years. God created Debbie with a nurturing spirit and her passion extended beyond her own children to the classroom and church.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54+ years, Richard Charles (Dick) Pacetti; her sister, Rebecca Davis Wilson (Rick); her sons, Richard Loren Pacetti (Katie) and Jeffrey Charles Pacetti (Stacey); and her grandchildren, Madelyn Jane Pacetti, Joshua Davis Pacetti, Jack Loren Pacetti, Julia Madison Pacetti, and Lily Kate Pacetti. She is also survived by her beloved adopted black Labrador retriever, Maggie.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 am Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Harris Campus Worship Center, with a funeral service following at 11:30. Dr. John Harrill will officiate.
