Born in Boulder, Colorado, on April 14,1961, Dawn was raised in Richmond, Texas and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where she met and married her loving and devoted husband.
In 1993, she and her husband permanently relocated to South Carolina where she remained a homemaker raising two daughters and making numerous friends. As a member of Central Church of God, Dawn served in the hospitality ministry and had a special impact on everyone she served.
Dawn never forgot her family roots and friendships as she and her family made annual visits to Texas. She also loved to travel the United States teaching her homeschooled children our nation's history in destinations such as Williamsburg, Virginia.
She was an artist, home decorator, a wonderful cook and a loving person whom her children's friends called "mom", but her favorite moniker was being "Nana" to her own grandchildren.
Dawn will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend, Kent DeVoll; their precious daughters, Jennifer DeVoll and Jessica (DeVoll) Price; her grandchildren, Henry Price and Evaline Price; her mother, Frances Rinehart; and by her siblings Bill (Irene) Rinehart, Lori (Larry) Duke and Rick (Mary) Rinehart. Dawn will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Dawn’s life will be held on Friday, June 28th at 12pm, at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Rd, Charlotte, NC 28270. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Dawn to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607; 1-800-528-1980.
