David Bernard Short, age 76 of Charlotte passed away April 14, 2012. A service to celebrate his life will be at 2:00PM Tuesday at Chapman Memorial Baptist Church, Reverend John Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in Elmwood City Cemetery with Military Rites.
Mr. Short was born in Richland County, SC son of the late Frank Abernethy and Sarah Lillian Moore Short and spent most of his life in Charlotte. He was a member of Chapman Memorial Baptist Church, served as a deacon, chairman of Ushers, faithful member of the Chapman Men’s Sunday School Class and had served in the U. S. Army.
Surviving is a foster daughter, Michelle Newton (James) of Charlotte.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Melton Short. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC, 28204.
