Rev. David Ross Luther

He was born and raised in Rowan County and graduated from South Rowan High School, class of 1966. Following high school he joined the US Air Force.

Following high school he joined the US Air Force.

He was the Senior Associate Pastor for the senior adults and pastoral care at Mulberry Baptist Church. In 2008 he earned a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary. He then graduated from the Atlantic Coast Theological Seminary in 2010, and received a Doctorate in Philosophy.

Reverend Luther was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Luther. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Hagler Luther; two daughters, Jamie Michelle Cook and husband Johnny; and Jennifer Marie Hall and husband, Tim; grandchildren, David and Abigail Cook and Zachary Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Mulberry Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Burns officiating. Interment will follow the service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 10:00 to 12:00pm at the church.

The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Mulberry Baptist Church Mission Fund, 6450 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC, 28214.
