David C. Clark

Charlotte, NC – David Cole Clark, 83, of Charlotte, NC went to be with the Lord Friday June 7, 2013. Departing this life peacefully and comfortably with his family by his side. David a native of Belmont, NC and is the son of Charlie C. Clark and Mary Mena Cole Clark, born December 29, 1929.

After graduating from high school, he entered the Navy, serving in the Korean War on the USS Piedmont. When he returned he had a successful career at DoAll Machine Company, serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Carolinas Division. After leaving DoAll, he started his own business as a salesman for machine tools.

Throughout his life he was an avid collector of Indian arrowheads and artifacts around this area, followed by old store antiques. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outside, scrounging for antiques to sell on his annual trip to Hillsville, VA.

David is preceded in death by his mother and father and ten brothers and sisters. David is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Pauline Patterson Clark. Three daughters Felicia Clark-Peaseley, husband Bob, Marcia Clark Henderson, Rachel Clark Howell, and husband Chris. As well as seven grandchildren: Matthew Henderson, Robert Peaseley, Melissa Peaseley, Krista Henderson, Brittany Howell, Brandon McKee, and Marshall Howell. His brother C. Robert Clark and wife Marion, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 10 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at McEwen Funeral Home in Pineville, NC. The funeral will be held at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church at 2pm on Tuesday June 11, with grave side service immediately following.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Capital Fund (7407 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28217).

The family would like to thank Dr. John Lacouture and Staff for years of excellent care, the members of Fire Station 38, the staff at CMC-Pineville, Care Haven and Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte also for their excellent services.
