Dallas was born May 1, 1958 in Charlotte, NC to Jeanette Butler and Merle King. He lived in the Derita area and attended Derita Elementary School, Northside Christian Academy, and North Mecklenburg High School. Dallas graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Economics and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Dallas began his career with Bank of America, and then worked twenty years in the insurance financial services as an independent broker. A member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, Dallas was active in the Victory Sports Mission Program for fourteen years. His favorite sports were baseball and basketball, both in play and as a spectator.
Favorite Bible verse: Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Favorite Psalm: 23:1-6 “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want…..”
Dallas is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Marvin and Janie King; his maternal grandparents Bill and Louise Butler; his step-father Ken Corzine; his uncle John Butler; and aunt Argyle Clark.
Dallas is survived by his father, Merle King, his mother, Jeanette Corzine, his uncle Lee Butler, his half-brother Dale Corzine, Dale’s wife Melissa, and his nephew, Hunter.
A heartfelt thanks to the friends, family, nurses and hospice who provided comfort and care to Dallas in his final months.
A graveside services will be held on July 21, 2023 at 11:00 am at Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 269 Flint Hill Rd., Fort Mill, SC 29715.
