Cynthia Marie Horne Martin

Cynthia H. Martin, 49, of Locust, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, after a second hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 10, 1971.

Cynthia worked for Messer Financial Group as a Contracting Manager. She always said that her second family was her co-workers there. They were there with her during her many cancer treatments.

She knew when her cancer came back that she might not be able to go into remission, but she never let it stop her from having a smile on her face and love in her heart. More than anything, she loved being Cian’s mom. He was an important part of her life. Being his mom was special to her.

Cynthia is survived by her parents, William and Gail Horne; her husband of 24 years, David Martin; son, Cian Martin; and brothers, Russell E. Horne and wife, Celeste, and Gary R. Horne.

A service to celebrate Cynthia's life was held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, at Hopewell Baptist Church Legacy Campus in Monroe, North Carolina. The Reverend Dr. Lee Pigg officiated.
