Cynthia Lynn Clark, known to friends and family as Cindy, passed away suddenly at her home on April 28, 2021, at the age of 68 in New Bern, North Carolina. She was recovering from a traumatic brain injury she sustained in January from a fall.
She was born on September 27, 1952, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Cindy spent nearly 30 years as a 911 dispatcher for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, retiring in 2014. She was commended for her service several times and was the recipient of the Telecommunicator of the Year award in 1993. Cindy lived all her life in Charlotte until last year when she moved to New Bern to be closer to family.
Cindy graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlotte. She was a devout follower of her faith and found solace in her religious beliefs. In her free time, Cindy enjoyed being a Party Lite representative, an interest she held for many years.
Cindy is survived by her sister Teresa Clark Moazed of New Bern, brother, Geary Clark and son, Ben Clark of Asheville. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her father Harold Eugene Clark, mother Frances Miller
Clark and brother Michael Dean Clark. Cindy had numerous friends that she kept in contact with who describe her as amazingly sweet and kind. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
