Colleen B. McManus, 86, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully May 21, 2021 in Gastonia. Born January 16, 1935 in Belmont, NC, she was the daughter of Ernest R. and Annie (Crump) Bolton. In 1953, she married Bobby Ray McManus in York, SC.
A graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, Colleen was the former co-owner of Mac’s Pawn Shop and she ran the Coolwood Oakdale Athletic Association Bingo Hall. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and retired from Owen’s Illinois Plastics after 18 years of employment.
A great homemaker, Colleen enjoyed fishing, trips to Cherokee and Myrtle Beach, bingo and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Donald McManus and Dean (Vicki) McManus; grandchildren, Farrah (Clay) Hodge, Jason (Erica) Cousar and Chase McManus; great-grandchildren, Kallie Hodge, Towner Cousar, Bailey Michelle Cousar, Beckham Cousar and Bella Mae Cousar; sister, Rachel Darnell; brother, Lewis Bolton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Cynthia G. Cousar; granddaughter, Michelle Cousar and six siblings.
Funeral Service 1 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. Visitation 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
