Charlotte, North Carolina due to natural causes.
Born in Staten Island, New York to Max and Rose Whitman (Bernstein) on October 30,
1958, he grew up with his two sisters Beryl (Scaggs) and Bina (Kane), and the family eventually
moved to Manalapan, New Jersey. As he got older, he attended Rutgers University and received
a bachelor’s degree. Clem enjoyed running, biking and music, but he had a true passion for
hiking and even embarked on a solo hike and camping trip along the Appalachian Trail.
Later, he then worked as an auditor in Clinical Research Quality Assurance for the last
several years. Over time, he developed his own company, Whitman Clinical Research, and
worked diligently to provide for his family, the most important people to him.
Clem is survived by his former spouse, Sandee Whitman (Heisler) and their three children and grandchildren - Blaise and his wife Ayana (Isis and Rio), Kevin, Hannah, and her husband Lawrence (Emma and Max) who he adored immensely. He is also survived by his two sisters, Beryl and Bina, their loving children and his grandniece and grandnephews.
Clem had a passion for life and understanding the deeper meaning. His words were a gift
and will be cherished forever.
Arrangements and life celebration are private to the immediate family in North Carolina.
“Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too” -Father/Daughter dance, 2017-
