Clarence Eugene Williams Sr.

He was a graduate of Wake Forest College and completed his graduate work at UNC Chapel Hill. Gene was a respected CPA for over 50 years. A long time resident of Charlotte, Gene most recently lived in Sun City Carolina Lakes, Fort Mill, SC. His integrity and witty personality will be missed by so many whose lives Gene touched.

Gene is survived by his cherished wife of over 60 years, Alice Overcash Williams; brother, Caley Vasser Williams, Jr. of Melbourne, FL; son, Gene Williams, Jr. and wife Beth of Clayton, NC; daughters, Beverly Hess of Woodbridge, VA and Robin Marquess and husband Scott of Charlotte; grandchildren, Gene Williams III, Lauren Williams, Kristin Williams, Samantha Hess, Alexandria Hess, and Jeff Marquess; and great-granddaughter, Caroline Mixon.

The funeral service for Mr. Williams will be held at 1 pm on Monday, March 4th at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Charlotte, where Mr. Williams was a member. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall afterwards. A private interment will be held in the St. John’s Memorial Garden.
