Cindy Perkins Hedspeth, 57, left this earth peacefully at her home on Monday, July 4, 2016, after a thirteen year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her family and is now securely in the arms of Jesus, free from cancer.
Cindy was born on November 19, 1958 to Allen and Carole Perkins in Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Albert; three children, Shannon Joseph and husband Brian, of Charlotte, Justin Hedspeth, of Belmont, and Joshua Hedspeth and wife Casey, of Huntersville. Her only granddaughter, Caroline, was her pride and joy, and good medicine for her soul. Cindy is also survived by her mother, Carole Marlow of Charlotte; sister, Sheryl Easton and husband Don, of Charlotte; brother, Gary Perkins, of Huntersville; and eight nieces and nephews.
After several years as a homemaker caring for her young children, Cindy returned to the work force in various roles before starting her own housekeeping business. She loved her clients and put her whole heart into caring for their homes. She enjoyed getting to know her clients and caring for them through this service.
Cindy had a fiery soul with spunk and passion, and was always the life of the party. She was spontaneous; loving a last minute trip to the beach or to see the leaves changing color in fall. She was a wonderful wife and she and Albert shared many great trips and memories together. They were the epitome of a marriage built on commitment, devotion and unconditional love. She was a friend to many, and was adept at developing deep, meaningful relationships. She loved the beach, her dog, Bailey, and being with family and friends. She loved Jesus and was instrumental in leading others to a love for the Lord as well. Church was a very important part of Cindy’s life; a member of Central Church of God for many years. She loved hearing Pastor Livingston’s sermons and chose to listen to them on CD when she could no longer physically attend church.
A funeral service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00am at Central Church of God with Reverend Howard Plummer officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn West Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 7:00-9:00pm at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
