I do not know your son but I do not have to; this is a time to show love and support to one another. As I know you, you and your family are in my prayers. I am also praying for Chris'family. Know that this is a tough time but you all will make it through it. May the grace of God rest upon you all.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rouse and Scott,

I have had your family in my prayers all week.  This has been a shock and is so heartbreaking. However, I would like to share something with you all that I hope will make you feel at least a little bit of peace.

One summer (as we did several), Chris went to camp with me and our Carmel Baptist friends.  That summer (1990), he asked Jesus to come and live in his heart.  I remember what a real and meaningful experience it was for him, as we had many talks about it over the years. Because of his decision to ask Christ into his heart, we are all assured that he is in heaven and that we will see him again if Christ lives in our hearts.

Chris always knew how to make me laugh more than anyone I know.  He had a way of making me feel special during the six years we were together.  He was definitely the first boy that ever stole my heart and I have so many fond memories of him and also, of spending time with your beautiful family.  You all have always been so special to me.

I pray that you can find peace during this difficult time. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers indefinitely.

I am so very sorry for and saddened by your loss.  Rouse was a good friend of my brother Kenny's and I enjoyed the laughs and fun times I shared with him too.  He will be missed by so so many.

Mr. and Mrs. Rouse and Scott,

I wanted to share something with you that I hope will be of comfort to you. When Chris went to church camp with with me the summer of 1990, he accepted Jesus into his heart. This is so very comforting to me, because it means that he is in heaven and that we will all see him again, if Jesus lives in our hearts.

As you know, we had a long relationship and certainly had our share of ups and downs (with many more ups than downs). I choose to remember the good times and the ups. 

Chris could make me feel like the most special girl in the world and could make me laugh harder than anyone I know. All of his funny sayings and our special talks and time together will forever be etched in my mind.  I thank God that he was a part of my life for the 6 1/2 years that he was. 

I pray that your family finds peace during this terribly tragic and difficult time of loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and will remain there indfinitely.

First, my condolensces to Mr. and Mrs. Rouse and his brother Scott.  Impossible to find the words for almost 30 yrs of friendship.  Chris and i managed to stay friends through jr and High School, college and beyond which is rare and something I cherished.  From 8th grade trying to figure out how to talk to girls we liked, to ski trips, to arguing about who was better Favre or Peyton,  app st or wcu, to standing beside me at my wedding and genuinely caring about what was going on with my wife and kids, Rouse was always there for me.  The guy was flat out hilarious , a blast to hang out with but also had one of the biggest hearts I've known.  Our time has been cut short but the great memories will live on.  Simply one of the best guys you could ever meet.  A great son, brother and friend to all of us.  I loved him like a brother and he will truly be missed.

Scott we were very sorry to hear about your brother.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we look forward to seeing you Wednesday night.  We hate that it is under these circumstances.  If you need anyone in CLT to help with anything going forward let us know.

Chris and I had been friends since 7th or 8th grade. we spent countless nights together in varying degrees of mischief...but all in good fun and with good friend. Chris came to visit me frequently while i was at Univ. of Tennessee and we shared many great times together. He will be missed. I am so sorry for your loss.

I loved Chris. As we were young, he taught me how to play basketball. Of course he and my brother Mike loved to play tricks on me and use me as their tester with many shocking electronics. They both made me think I was lost at Disney and watch me from a distance. Chris would nice until my brother did not want me around them anymore. I really wish we had more time together as adults.
