Cheryl M. Long

Cheryl M. Long, age 79, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Born November 18, 1944 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Johnnie C. and Eunice (Beasley) Mumford. She married Paul Edward Long III February 12, 1988 in Daytona Beach, FL.

A graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, Cheryl was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank for numerous years and later retired from Winn Dixie Grocery Store, where she was a bakery manager.

She enjoyed crafting with flowers and pottery, gardening, spending time at the beach, shopping, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Long; children, Rod (Dennise) Hunter, Todd Hunter and Wendy (Kyle) Westerman; grandchildren, John (Liz) Hunter, Josie Alleman, Lauren (Brandon) Katsoudas, Nikki (Evan) Huntley, Landon Horrell, Dalton Hunter and Dillon Hunter; great-grandchildren, Maggie Hunter and Luke Hunter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Randy and Gary Mumford.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC on Monday January 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Entombment in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
