Charles E. Gerald

He was one of eight children born to his parents. Charles "Junior" as he was called growing up attended LaBoca High School and then Junior College. He worked as a teacher in Canal Zone Panama until he left.

As a young man Charles married Inez Christian. To this union was born his only daughter Carla Maritza Gerald. In 1956 he married Pauline Acenta Alleyne and to this union were born two sons Rodney and Carl.

Charles immigrated to the United States in 1959 and settled in Brooklyn, NY and the family later moved to Queens Village NY.

He worked in international export until he and Pauline relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL to enjoy their retirement.

Charles will be remembered as a kind quiet family man. He was a great provider who valued his family and always wanted the best for them. He enjoyed spending time with his late wife Pauline, his children and grandchildren.

Charles was called home by our Lord and Savior Jessus Christ on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. He is mourned by his son Rodney Gerald, son Carl Gerald and daughter-in-law Ramonde Gerald; grandchildren Matthew, Nyomie, Daniel, Marcus, Jasmyn and Elijah; sisters-in-law Barbara, Norma and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his late wife Pauline Gerald, his parents Charles and Verona Gerald, his daughter Carla Gerald Townsend, and daughter-in-law Lysa Gerald.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 5 - 7 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277 on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11 am.

Burial will be at a later date at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Rd. 7, N. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33068.
