Casondra was born and raised in Charlotte N.C. She was baptized at Eastway Church of God where she grew in her journey with Christ. She valued education and earned several degrees including a bachelor’s in science from Belmont Abbey as well as a master’s in public health. Sondra was greatly valued by her work family at FinThrive and maintained a position as a Senior Data Analyst.
Family and close friends called her by her nickname Nush aka Sondra. She had an infectious smile and a welcoming spirit. Her passion for animals ran deep, especially for llamas and cows. She volunteered at the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue and loved all her personal pets dearly. Sondra enjoyed helping people and has participated in many projects to aid the community such as establishing after school programs, conducted
tutoring sessions and back to school drives. She was very loving, funny and fluent in sarcasm. Sondra enjoyed listening to Prince, Bruno Mars, Linkin Park, Paramour, Drake, Pink and Kanye. She shared a lot of her time, passions and innermost thoughts with her best friend of 25 years, Nouen. Sondra enjoyed spending time with family, at the beach, making crafts and she was always a safe spot and the go to for her “babies” (Brielle, Tanaja, Toine and Noah). She shared a special connection with Brooklyn and was loved exponentially by her cousins Tasha and Shavon and by her Aunt Audra and Uncle Montell.
She is preceded in death by her brothers James McKinley Rice and Willie James McClee. Survivors to cherish her memories are Noeun Chann(best friend), her sisters Nerissa Newton, Sopafroina Black, Louise McDaniel, Tina Davis and Delenthia McDaniel. She also leaves behind her brothers Willie McDaniel, Alger Horton, Terry Collins, and Reginald Weddington. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews.
