Carrol was an employee of Duke Energy for 35 years before retiring in 1991. His favorite pastime in life was taking care of his wife and family as well as going to church and mowing grass. Carrol accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He spent his entire life serving others and embodied the phrase, "having a heart of Christ".
He was joyfully welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carol Parrish Helton, as well as his three children: Pam and husband, John; Dean and his wife, Debbie, and Rodney and his wife, Ginger. Carrol had five grandchildren: Phillip and his wife, Kasie, Jon and his wife, Samantha, Mark and his wife, Maahi, Stephen and his wife, Emily, and Savannah. He was also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, the 15th of April 2025 at Faith Baptist Church, 5194 Old Plank Road, Iron Station, NC 28080. The Helton family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
