Carolyn Marie Talley

Carolyn Marie Talley, 76, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1935 in Reidsville, NC, a daughter of the late Raleigh H. Talley and Sue M. Talley.

Marie worked as an executive secretary for JP Stevens in Charlotte and Greenville, SC for over 30 years. She returned to Charlotte when she retired in 1986.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her long time companion, Keely Grice, Jr. Marie never married, but spent 40+ years with Keely Grice – making many happy memories.

She is survived by her sister, Betty T. Lemons of Greensboro, NC; niece, Wendy L. Morris (Michael) of Oak Island, NC; “special” sons, Keely Grice, III (Beth) and Stephen Grice (Laura), both of Charlotte; and “special” grandchildren, Nicole Grice, Stephanie Grice, Ashley Grice, and Bennett Grice, all of Charlotte.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21st at Lakeview Cemetery in Greensboro, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Park Road Baptist Church in Charlotte.

Marie would like for you to spend some time with a friend, help out a neighbor who needs a little assistance, have a good laugh when you remember a special time with her, and most of all, love one another and spread a little ‘Sunshine”.
