A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at McEwen – Mint Hill Chapel. A private family committal service will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC.
Carolyn was born November 10, 1945 in Rowan County, NC, a daughter of Emma Ruth Speck of China Grove and the late Carl A. Speck. She was a Paralegal and co-owner of Research One in Matthews, NC.
In addition to her mother, Carolyn is survived by her companion of twenty-two years, Donnie Simpson of Matthews; brothers, Harold Speck (Nancy) and Jacob Speck (Judy) all of China Grove; sisters, Barbara Upright (Perry) and Janice Hardin (Earl) all of China Grove and Phyllis Grubb (Larry) of Orangeburg, SC; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
