Carolyn was a witty, generous and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many of us who are forever changed by her influence. We will not forget what she gave to us during her earthly tenure. She now will enjoy the wonders of heaven and we rejoice at the freedom she will experience in the new life.
Carolyn grew up and lived her entire life in Charlotte. She graduated from Harding High School in 1954, where she met her husband of 27 short years, Bill Shaw, before he died. Surviving Carolyn are two children, Bill Shaw, Jr. and his wife Debbie, and Kimberly Shaw Ouisenberry; her grandchildren, Danielle and Evan Shaw, Rachel and Alyse Quisenberry. Carolyn had a close, loving relationship with them all.
Carolyn is also survived by a loving family of sisters, Jackie Mask, Eleanor Randall, Janet Jettman, Sue Flowers and Cammie Williams. Preceding her in death were the remainder of her caring siblings, Melvin Moore, Nick Gardner and Shirley Randall.
Many nephews and nieces were special parts of her life.
Carolyn loved to have fun and she gave freely of herself and what she had to others. How she will be missed! We were blessed by her life. (And who can ever forget her home-made fries.)
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm , Monday, August 27, 2012 at Forest lawn West Chapel with Reverend Tony Harper officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
