Carolyn Huneycutt King

Carolyn Huneycutt King, 88, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was born on November 19, 1934 to PP and Carrie Huneycutt.

Carolyn was a native Charlottean and graduated from Central High School. She attended Kings College and went on to a long career with Mectric Control Company. She enjoyed her work but loved her family the most and spoiled her grandchildren every chance she could. She led an active lifestyle and enjoyed traveling with her husband and later her daughter and her sister. She was fond of her hobbies: water aerobics, yoga, and pilates. She enjoyed singing in the choir during her time at Calvary Church but she returned to her original family church, Eastway Baptist Church, where she also sang in the choir. Her friendly smile , sharp wit, and loving personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan B. King Sr.; her son, Dan B. King Jr.; her grandson, Dan B. King III; her parents; and her siblings, Dempsey Huneycutt, Kenneth Huneycutt, Norman Huneycutt, Mavis Huneycutt, and several younger siblings who passed much earlier.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia King; her daughter-in-law, Leslie King; her grandsons, Michael King and Jared King; her great-grandsons, Bryson King and Dutton King; her sister, Martha Jo Plyler; her sister-in-law, Maxine Huneycutt; and many other loving extended family members.

A Homegoing Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel. 7428 Matthews - Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
