Carol Anne Rose, 65, of Charlotte, went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 16, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews, after a long and courageous battle with COPD. She was born on June 29, 1947 in Wilmington, Delaware, and grew up in Delaware and Ohio. She attended West Tech High School in Cleveland, and graduated from Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio.
Over the years, Carol worked as a customer service representative for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, and a mortgage loan officer for Travelers Mortgage. She started and ran her own cleaning and catering businesses, and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. Carol was a Realtor for over 15 years in Ohio and Charlotte, and earned her GRI designation. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, ballroom dancing, crafts, and was an avid reader. She was member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church for 25 years, and loved Jesus with all her heart.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of over 35 years, Thomas E. Rose; her mother, Alliene Wilkinson Butchko and stepfather, Martin M. Butchko, of Coshocton, Ohio; sister, Patricia Daniels and husband, Edward Daniels, of Coshocton, Ohio; and niece, Alliene Daniels. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond P. Wilkinson.
A memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held at St. Stephen United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
