May 12, 1930 – November 5, 2015
Carol Boschker was born in Penn, North Dakota. Her grandparents were among the original settlers of the Dakota Territories whose straightforward, mid-western values were the hallmark of these strong, hardworking people, who endured the harsh Dakota seasons. Her greatest family achievement was to see her children grow up to be decent, loving people. She delighted in time spent with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Carol was very involved in the Lutheran Church - serving on various committees, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. She was always available to help friends – whatever their needs. An active member of the Rapid City, South Dakota High School Reunion Committee, she even managed to attend the 65th reunion in 2013. She was a very creative person– a talented seamstress, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and painting ceramics. She loved learning to play her Lowry organ and travelled extensively with her organ playing friends. One of her most enjoyable activities was motorcycle riding and the interaction with other biking enthusiasts. Her motorcycle passion evolved into joining a variety of groups throughout her lifetime which brought her great joy and friendships.
Carol loved decorating for the holidays. The arrival of a package from her marked the beginning of the Christmas season. Although this package contained carefully selected gifts for all, the real treasure was her signature homemade fudge. OMG! THE BEST EVER! Carol’s love for life was endless and truly compassionate. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
Carol is predeceased by her parents, Henry Michael Kaiser and Norma Carol Gessner Kaiser; by a brother, Norman S. Kaiser; and by a very special friend, Walt Comer. She is survived by her beloved children; Don Boschker and wife Susan of Greensboro, David Boschker of Walnut Cove, NC, Janet Boschker of Charlotte, NC, and Doug Boschker and his wife Aurora of Cary, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Leslie, Bob, Jennifer, Jason, Victoria, Amanda and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Andre’ Kaiser of Rapid City, South Dakota and her nieces Marta, Nancy, and Laura.
