Candy was born May 24, 1956 in Charlotte to the late Raymond G. Parris and Betty Huntley Parris.
Candy grew up in Northern Virginia, but returned to Charlotte as a college student. She is a graduate of Robinson Secondary School, Fairfax, VA, and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
She was the executive assistant to the president of R.E. Mason Co. of Charlotte. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother and brother Ray Parris, both of Spindale, NC; husband Don Worthington of Mint Hill; daughter Sarah Weiss and her husband Adam of Indian Trail; son Cameron Hartis of Charlotte and five grandchildren; Caleb and Elijah Weiss and Mason, Seth and Logan Hartis.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200 E. W.T. Harris Boulevard, Charlotte 28215. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:30 p.m.
The burial will be a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
