Byron Neal Jackson

Born September 23, 1962, in Atlanta, Georgia, Byron was a son of Marie and the late Joseph Jackson. He was a 1980 graduate of Northside Christian Academy. He married Cheryl Durrette on December 11, 1999.

Byron worked with Messer Americas hauling industrial and medical gases. He was a disciple of Jesus and was an active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Byron loved spending time on the road traveling with Cheryl and was always full of laughter and love for others.

He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Neal Jackson.

Byron is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cheryl Jackson; his mother, Marie of Charlotte, North Carolina; his brother, Kevin and his wife, Pennie, of Wilmington, North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Barbara Durrette of Concord, North Carolina; and siblings-in-law, Sonja and Mike Barrett of Calvert City, Kentucky and Leland and Susan Durrette of Concord, North Carolina. Byron also leaves behind to cherish his memory his three nephews, four nieces, five great-nephews and four great-nieces.

A visitation for Byron will be held from 10:00 am until 11:30 am Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Harris Campus Worship Center, 7200 E. WT Harris Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina 28215, with a funeral service following at 11:30 am. Dr. John Harrill will officiate. A committal service will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorials be made to the Missions Fund at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200 E. WT Harris Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina 28215.
