Brenda was born in Charlotte, NC on July 11, 1942 to Henry and Reppie Harvey. Brenda attended Garinger High School and was a part of the first graduating class in 1960. After high school she attended Cosmetology school here in Charlotte. Brenda was a hair stylist and had her own shop in her home for many years.
Brenda loved and lived life to the fullest. She loved helping people, she loved to bowl and was a follower of Elvis Presley and his music. She was a member of the Honorary Women's Auxiliary at the VFW Post 1166, Fraternal Order of Police, the Moose Lodge, United States Bowling Congress and she managed an Elvis Presley impersonator for many years. Brenda was involved in various charities; Jingle Bell Rock, and Memories for the Cure and Bowl for the Cure with the local bowling association. Brenda was an avid bowler and was on the local board as a Director of the CWBA, WIBC, and USBC. Brenda also represented NC Senior National Bowling Tournament in Syracuse, NY and she bowled in the Women's National Tournament for over thirty years.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Reppie Harvey and her son Everett Clark. Brenda leaves behind daughters Teresa Clark Shultz and Cathy Diane Clark, a brother Pete Harvey, grandchildren Heather, Jimmy (Brittany), and Matthew and great grandchildren Hayley and Olivia. She also leaves behind many cousins, close friends and acquaintances and will be greatly missed by all.
A graveside service for Brenda will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Donations on Brenda's behalf can be made to St. Jude's Children's hospital or the Wounded Warriors.
