Bobby was a graduate of Clemson University and spent his 43 year career with one employer, Winn Dixie, where he started as a chicken cutter and upon his retirement was the president of the Charlotte Division.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Shirley Ervin Tripp, children: Kimberly Tripp Macfarlan, Angela Tripp Hawisher (Hal), Laura Tripp Spencer (John); grandchildren: Jack and Jim Spencer, Chase and Mackenzie Hawisher; his beloved dog Annie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a son Bobby Blake Tripp Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Matthews, NC, followed by a memorial service to celebrate his life at 12:30 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1901 Archdale Drive, Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JDRF, 205 Regency Executive Park Dr. Suite 102, Charlotte, NC 28217 or to St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at CMC Pineville Hospital, the Rehab Center at Carolina Specialty Hospital in Pineville, and especially to diabetes specialists and "angels" Kathryn Martin and Blair Morse.
