The youngest of twelve children, Betty was born on November 27, 1929 in Monroe, NC to the late Vaness and Hattie (Mangum) Threatt.
Betty attended Thomasboro High School and graduated with the class of 1947. She retired from Southern Bell in the late 1980s after 28 years of dedicated employment.
Betty formerly attended Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC where she was a valued member of the Jolly Sixties. She had recently been attending Westport Baptist Church in Denver, NC where she enjoyed being part of the senior adult Sunday School class. Deeply committed to her faith, Betty was often generously involved at church and she had a strong attendance record.
Reading her bible, attending Sunday school, and playing piano were at the center point of Betty’s life. She devoted herself to those passions consistently until her passing. She was strong-willed, fun, kind, and compassionate, and she always had a sweet smile on her face. Betty cared so much for those around her, and it was guaranteed that you would never leave her home hungry.
Those left to remember Betty include her sons, Mark Robinson (Donna) and Scott Robinson (Cheryl Kihm); as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Betty is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, Vaness and Hattie; and her siblings, Hazel, Clyde, Harry, Carroll, Van, Johnny, Mildred, Marion, Doris, Margaret, and Jack.
The Robinson family will receive guests on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte. Following the visitation, there will be a funeral service to honor Betty’s life at 2:00 pm in the Paul Helton Hall at the funeral home. Guests are invited to join the procession into Forest Lawn West Cemetery for the committal service.
