Betty Jo Hamilton Puckett, age 77 of Charlotte passed away September 29, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the graveside in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Puckett was born September 24, 1934 in Omar, West Va. daughter of the late Arnold and Sally Shadd Hamilton. Before retiring she was co-owner of Tanzy's Restaurant, was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan and a lover of wild life and her dog "Missy". Surviving are sisters, Thelma Harmon of Charlotte, Cora Green of Welch, West, Va.,Kathy Cantrell and Patsy Cook both of Brenton, West Va., brother, Dan Shadd of Wyoming, West Va., nieces, Jo Anne Shoemake of Charlotte, Patricia Brindle of Midland, NC, Emily Shadd of Portsmouth, Va., nephews, Steve Hamilton of Charlotte, Malcolm Shadd of Iron Station, NC and Jim Shadd of Wyoming, West, Va. and a devoted sister-in-law, Linda Hamilton of Charlotte.
