Betty W Knight

Mrs. Knight Age 95 died September 16, 2017. Born March 28, 1922 in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late Samuel David Wentz and Osee McWhirter Wentz. Her husband Ernest William Knight preceded her in death October 16, 2006.

A lifelong Charlottean, she attended Tech High School, worked at NC State Motor Club and retired from the Mecklenburg County Election Office. Betty enjoyed traveling, fishing and watching sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball.

The service to celebrate the life of Betty Wentz Knight will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 3pm from the graveside at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Survivors include sons Donald Knight and wife Wanoka of Cornelius, Jeffrey Knight and wife Susannah of Charlotte, Gregory Knight of Charlotte and sister in law Bibbi Wentz. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren Rick Knight and his wife Aubri of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Scott Knight of Cornelius, Baxter Knight and fiancé Erin Metkowski of Raleigh, Annie Knight and Jack Knight of Charlotte and five great grandchildren Kendrick, Lauren, Ava, Nolan and Jordan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
