Betty Walker Hill

Born February 21, 1928, she graduated from Technical High School after which she spent a long career as an administrative assistant with McDevitt & Street/Bovis Construction Company. She loved everyone and found the best in everyone. She loved to travel and loved family gatherings.

Mrs. Hill was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. She will always be remembered for her care for her looks – always having her hair fixed and being immaculately dressed, and her love for Snoopy and coffee ice cream. A special family memory is her love for Keith Urban and celebrating her 75th birthday by going to one of his concerts. She never sat down during the entire performance!

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Barber Carpenter (Daryl) and Libby Adams (Bobby); her grandchildren, Lisa Michelle Williams and Ashley Renee Barber; and great grandchildren, Kayla, Jessica, Amber and Tyler Harris; her sister, Lois "Jeri" Helms (Gene); and her beloved canine companion, Daisy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Edna Walker; son, James (Jimmy) Jones; grandson, Ray Williams; and a sister, Dot Chavis.

A service to celebrate Betty Hill’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13th in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
