Betty McElhaney Fast, age 82 of Charlotte passed away October 28, 2012 at her residence. A visitation will be from 10:00-11:00AmThursday at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home with a service to celebrate her life to begin at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel, Reverend Tom Tate and Chaplain Butch Branscome officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery
Mrs. Fast was born December 15, 1929 in Rock Hill, SC daughter of the late Hazel Lawrence and Louise Wallace McElhaney. She was a member of Plaza Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Harding High School and retired as a Senior Clerk for Bell South Telephone Company.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Howard A. Fast, sons, Larry Fast (Della) of Albemarle, NC and Garry Fast (June) of Summerville, SC., five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and a brother, Marshall McElhaney of Mt. Holly, NC.
