Betty Crump

Betty Vick Crump, 85, of Pineville, NC passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013. She was born July 15, 1928 to the late William Cull and Margaret Ann Hudson (Maggie) Vick. She married her childhood sweetheart, Bobby Lee Crump of Pineville. Betty was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was strong in her faith and character. She was an independent woman with a tenacious spirit. Betty was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was a self-employed beautician and later worked for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system at the Metro Center. Betty shared her time with family in the Pineville area and her friends at North Myrtle Beach, SC. Her interest included: working with the disaster relief team at her church, fishing, digging for seashells, playing cards and taking her faithful little companion "Boogie" for daily golf cart rides at the beach.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Bobby; two daughters, Mary Ann Creech (Mickey) and Jo Tiddy (Mike); grandchildren, Keely Varol (John), Mitchell Creech (Heather), Rebecca Askins (Jourdan) and MacGregor Stevenson and great grandchildren John Mitchell Varol, Clint and Carly Creech, Joey, Brady, Sam, Reece and Keely Askins.

The family will receive friends at McEwen Pineville Chapel on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. The funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Mike Gehring and Reverend David Falgout immediately following the visitation at 3:00 pm in the McEwen Chapel. Burial will be in the Pineville Cemetery.
