Betty Louise Marshall Brown, of Supply, went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 30, 1930 to Elizabeth “Bessie” Marshall and John William Marshall. She graduated from Charlotte Technical High School, and worked at Transport Clearings, East in Charlotte for over 40 years. She was a volunteer for 10 years with the food pantry at Brunswick Islands Baptist Church, and tutored for 17 years with Supply Elementary School. She was active in her church family, was a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and was a proud grandma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gene Marshall, Aiken Marshall, John Marshall, Donald Marshall, and Steve Edwards, and sisters Christine Bean, Madeline Allen, and Faustine Putnam. She is survived by her husband James R. Brown of Supply, daughter Elizabeth Humble of Greensboro, daughter Carrie Gibbs of Cape Coral, FL, son Jim Brown of Greenville, SC, sister Donna King of Charlotte, brother Jack Marshall of Charlotte and loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 1 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with Pastor Rudy Ramphal officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
