Born in Cedar Town, Georgia, Barry grew up in Macon, Georgia and has been living in Charlotte/Mint Hill, North Carolina for the past 40 plus years.
Barry was the beloved husband of Brenda King for 60 years; loving father of Samuel King and Tracy Sharp and son-in-law, Jeremy Sharp of Atlanta, Georgia; and proud grandfather of Eden Sharp (16) and Lyla Sharp (13). He is also survived by his brothers, Allen King, Mike King, and brother, Randy Koster; and was pre-deceased by brother, Richard Koster. He was also pre-deceased by his father, James B. King; mother, Janelle Koster; and stepmother Aileen King.
Barry loved owning his business, American Shutters; playing and watching golf; breakfast or lunch with friends; his adorable dog Buddy; his Mini Cooper; cowboy westerns on TV; and spending time with family.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, 11501 Bain School Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 pm.
