Barbara Joan Baier Venezia

Barbara was born in Kearny, NJ to the late Frederick and Ethel Baier. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Venezia; three children, Cheryl Venezia and husband Richard Rosa of Puerto Rico, Debbie MacDevette and husband Declan MacDevette of Charlotte, NC, and Robert Venezia of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Marjorie McLaren, Eileen Baier Bryant, and Karen Mazowieski; and grandchildren, Kelly and Sean MacDevette.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who had an immense love for life. She graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1960 and worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse for 25 years. Barbara and her husband Charles raised their three children in Parsippany, NJ. She was the president of the Par Troy garden club and loved flowers, gardening, birds and nature. She loved to travel and spend time with friends and family on Long Beach Island, NJ. In 2008, Barbara and Charles relocated from Parsippany, NJ to Sun City in Indian Land, SC where Barbara continued her excitement for life traveling with the day-trippers club, playing mahjong, and as a member of the retired nurses club.

A time of Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in the chapel, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277.
