She was always proud to be a Charlotte native which she used to say had become a rare thing. Following graduation from South Mecklenburg High School she attended Central Piedmont Community College, achieving an associate degree in Business Administration. She worked various jobs over her career in the banking, retail and engineering sectors. She loved to put her toes in the sand and water at the beach, in addition to saltwater fishing. The mountains were always a spot of joy and she liked to bring rocks home. She thoroughly enjoyed all sorts of flower and tree gardening. She truly had a green thumb in her heyday, pre-internet.
She spent her life as a devoted and loving mother to her children, Christie Noble (Andy) of Winston-Salem, NC and Coley Mathews of Charlotte, NC, who survive her. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Waylon Noble, 18, and Jasper Noble, 17,both of which she adored and cherished. She leaves three brothers: her heart and soul Richard Huntley of Charlotte, NC, Ben Huntley Jr. (Vickie) of Charlotte, NC, and James Huntley (Karen) of Norwood, NC. She leaves two cousins, as close as siblings, Arnold Donovan (Marilyn) and Connie Donovan, both of Fayetteville, NC. Her best friend since 4th grade, Becki Harris. A lifelong friend, Sandra Chandler, of California. Her dog, Willy, who never left her side. She had a tight knit group of friends that were neighbors whom she socialized and shared meals and birthdays with often. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well. She loved you all, as you loved her.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Benjamin Huntley Sr. and Ella Frances Huntley, a sister, Billie McFadden (Clark), and a brother Ray Huntley, all of Charlotte, NC, close cousins Patricia Autry, Eileen Donovan, Timothy Donovan, Tommy Donovan, all of Fayetteville, NC, former husband and father of her children, Otis Mathews of Rock Hill, SC, former husband Vernon Wiley of Charlotte, NC.
