She was called home peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her home, where she was raised as the only child by her parents, Amos and Elizabeth Goldman in Charlotte, NC. She was God fearing and had a strong leadership of faith and was always willing to share her testimony. She knew what scripture you needed to hear to give you that extra push of encouragement to get to the other side. Barbara was wonderful, full of life, love, and a vibrant woman who could put a smile on anyone's face. She also had her ways to make you feel that you were a part of her family, and that you belong in this world and to never forget that God always has a purpose for all of us.
She was a wonderful proud mother of three: Shirell Huntley, Casena Wright (Victor Wright), and Ernest Huntley Jr. (Kelley Huntley); grandmother of seven, Latavia Huntley, Enique Quarles (Stanley Quarles Jr.) Quentin Huntley (Kaijae Huntley), Thurman Hill, Quaylin Hill, Ernest Huntley III, and Jade Huntley; a great-grandmother of two and counting Tariq Sanford, and Kaliyah Huntley.
Barbara was a practicing nurse for over 30 years and was adored by many. She cherished the moments in her career along with her very special extended family bond with Dr. Charles and Laura Jarrett and the Stockwell family. She was a well-loved member of her community and a devoted member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church under the bold leadership of Dr. Dennis R. Williams. Barbara loved to travel, enjoyed her time playing in the bowling league, Bingo, Fishing, Gardening, and most of all, spending time in the word reading her Bible. She loved to cook and host many dinner parties with her family and close friends. She was definitely a woman with many talents and she never met a stranger. She will truly be missed, and her family will continue to honor and celebrate her spirit and legacy.
